July Talk – Author Anthony Wells Discusses his Book Between Five Eyes

Posted on Thursday 1 July 2021

Join us for our July talk, on Thursday 22 July at 1900, the last one before the summer break, in which we welcome author Anthony Wells who will discuss his book Between Five Eyes.

He charts fifty years of change, turmoil, intense challenges, successes and failures, and never-ending abiding UK-US and Five Eyes relationships. He traces the development of institutions that he firmly believes have sustained and indeed may have saved the free world, Western democracies and their allies from those ill-disposed to the value system and culture of our nations.

The only person to have worked for British Intelligence as a British citizen and US Intelligence as a US citizen addresses the most comprehensive known espionage alliance – The Five Eyes – using insider knowledge.

More than a chronology of the UK-US intelligence community during this fifty-year period, this is a personal insight into key relationships and how the abiding strength of the United States and the United Kingdom and its Five Eyes allies relationships. As a fully trained and accredited security officer for two US intelligence organisations, Anthony Wells has relied on his own extensive unclassified collection of papers, personal notes, diaries, as well as his family library, and open government declassified and redacted source material to create this book.
