The Marine Mammal Observatory Ltd., Malta, are looking to hire a former Royal Navy Officer to take command of their ship, M/V Ice Lady early next year.
“Ice Lady” (built 1959, 43.3m in length, 344 gross tonnage, 1800 HP Werkspoor engine) spent the first 45 years of her existence patrolling the Arctic under Norwegian flag and was then based in Patagonia for 5 years. She was acquired by the current owners 10 years ago and was completely rebuilt and transformed in Malta for private and commercial use.
The ship carries an English-speaking crew of nine, generally sails throughout the Mediterranean during the Summer months and winters in Monaco.
The position which is available is that of Captain, on a full-time basis during the summer, flexible in the winter. Salary is negotiable.
