Hearts of Oak – Creating a Commemorative ARNO Wood

Posted on Tuesday 29 June 2021

Hearts of Oak
To mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022, we are inviting all ARNO members to come together and plant a tree in a section of the National Forest, a 200 square mile area of the Midlands covering parts of Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire.
We’re aiming for a wooded area of 200 trees or more, which with almost 5,000 members should not be too difficult thereby creating a legacy in honour of our Patron and leave a sustainable ARNO Wood for posterity.
Donations are only £15 per tree (likely to be oak) and all members who would like to plant a tree will receive a named certificate and will be listed in a roll of honour in the 2022 Yearbook. You are welcome to buy more than one tree and might wish to plant them in memory of a loved one, or to dedicate to family member – perhaps in the name of children or grandchildren.
Simply email us at enquiries@arno.org.uk by 1 August with ARNO Wood in the subject line and a note of how many trees you wish to buy. We will then take payment via your direct debit or contact you for card details.
Let’s keep the country green and our Patron at the heart of our Association.
Plant a tree or two for ARNO!
