April Talk – Royal Navy Human Performance

Our Guest Speaker this month is Captain Rachel Smallwood MBE MA MSc FCIPD Royal Navy. Appointed Head of RN Human Performance in May 2021, Rachel will reflect on her first year in post, and discuss plans for the next year.  Thursday 21 April at 1900 – register to attend HERE.

Rachel is passionate about enabling individuals, teams and organisations to fulfil their potential at work. An Organisational Psychologist, she has specialised in L&D, D&I, Leadership and workplace performance for the last 20 years. Initially joining as a Royal Marines Musician, Rachel commissioned through RMA Sandhurst, enjoying a short career as an Army Education Officer before transferring to the RN as a Training Officer in 2003. A graduate of the Advanced Command and Staff Course, she has worked in Defence Intelligence, MOD Head Office, and the US 3* Headquarters in Kabul, in addition to RN jobs. Rachel lives with her family on the Isle of Wight. A former Naval Servicewomen’s Network co-Chair, she advocates authenticity and inclusive leadership.
