ELIGIBILITY FOR MEMBERSHIP OF ASSOCIATION

SERVICE MEMBERS
All serving or retired commissioned officers of the
following services:

• Royal Navy (RN)
• Royal Marines (RM)
• The former Women’s Royal Naval Service (WRNS)
• The Queen Alexandra’s Royal Naval Nursing Service (QARNNS)
• Reserve Forces of those listed above

Entitled to all benefits on payment of annual subscription or Life membership
Required to complete Membership Application Form and Banker’s Order Form.

Free Membership for Young Officers:

ARNO offers two years free membership to officers on graduation from Dartmouth or Lympstone. The normal membership application form should be completed. but "YO" given as membership type.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERS
All serving or retired officers of the following services:

• Sea Cadet Corps (SCC)
• Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA)
• Royal Naval Auxiliary Service (RNXS)

Also:

• Widows/widowers of retired officers of above services who were not members of ARNO

Entitled to most benefits on payment of annual subscription BUT not entitled to Life membership or to vote but can attend AGM and in some cases may not be entitled to benevolence. Additionally those not listed in the Navy Lists are not entitled to a certificate of identity or access to the Membership Database.

Required to complete Membership Application Form and Banker’s Order Form. Membership Application Form must be submitted to Membership Sub Committee for approval along with one or more of the following:

• Proof of applicant's time served in relevant service.
• Proof of applicant's association with the Royal Navy.
• The name of an ARNO member who can recommend the applicant.

HONORARY MEMBERS

• The widow or widower of an ARNO member
• *The widow or widower of an officer who died whilst still serving but who was not an ARNO member
• *Those who offer consultative services at discounted rates to ARNO members i.e. medical and legal consultants

Entitled to benefits as for Associate Members (see above) . No annual subscription required.
